ConfigLatch Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to ConfigLatch, a Windows desktop application provided by ZULIC STUDIO. By downloading, installing or using ConfigLatch, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not install or use ConfigLatch.

1. About ConfigLatch

ConfigLatch is a release-control application for authorised Roblox creators managing Roblox Experience Configs.

It provides tools to prepare, review, approve, publish and verify Config changes using official Roblox OAuth and Open Cloud services.

ConfigLatch v0.23.1 is a local-first Windows desktop application. Hosted Team Workspace is not active in this release.

2. Eligibility and authority

You may use ConfigLatch only if:

  • You are legally able to agree to these Terms.

  • You are authorised to access every Roblox account and experience you connect.

  • You hold the Roblox permissions required for the actions you perform.

  • Your use complies with applicable laws and Roblox’s terms, policies and Community Standards.

Roblox permissions remain the final authority. ConfigLatch cannot grant access that Roblox has not granted.

3. Roblox connection

ConfigLatch connects using official Roblox OAuth and Open Cloud.

ConfigLatch does not ask for your Roblox password or customer API key. You are responsible for protecting your Roblox account, Windows account, device and authorised sessions.

You may disconnect ConfigLatch through the application and revoke applicable access through Roblox.

4. Licence

Subject to these Terms, ZULIC STUDIO grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use ConfigLatch for your authorised Roblox development and live-operations activities.

You may not:

  • Copy, sell, sublicense or redistribute ConfigLatch except as permitted by law or Microsoft Store.

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it.

  • Remove ownership, copyright or security notices.

  • Bypass safeguards, compatibility controls, approvals or access restrictions.

  • Use ConfigLatch to access Roblox accounts or experiences without authority.

  • Use ConfigLatch for malicious activity, exploitation, phishing, credential theft, platform abuse or unlawful conduct.

  • Misrepresent ConfigLatch as a Roblox product or an officially endorsed Roblox service.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Reviewing every proposed Config change before publishing.

  • Confirming that changes are appropriate for the intended Roblox experience.

  • Maintaining suitable backups, safeguards and recovery procedures.

  • Protecting your device and account access.

  • Keeping ConfigLatch updated to an approved version.

  • Investigating warnings, compatibility blocks and uncertain outcomes.

  • Complying with Roblox requirements and any obligations owed to your studio, clients, contractors or players.

ConfigLatch assists with release control but does not replace professional judgement, testing, Roblox permissions or platform controls.

6. Safe operation

ConfigLatch includes safeguards intended to reduce release risk. These safeguards do not guarantee that every mistake, incompatibility, platform failure or undesired outcome will be prevented.

If ConfigLatch reports that a publish outcome is unknown, you must not attempt another write until authoritative Roblox state has been refreshed and confirmed.

If compatibility is blocked, you must use an approved ConfigLatch version before continuing.

ZULIC STUDIO may disable write functionality or require a minimum approved version where reasonably necessary for security, compatibility or platform safety.

7. Local data

The current release stores operational information locally on your Windows device. This may include profiles, Experience identifiers, Saved Releases, safeguards, approvals, compatibility information and activity records.

OAuth material is protected using Windows security facilities. You remain responsible for controlling access to your Windows account and device.

Data handling is further explained in the ConfigLatch Privacy Notice.

8. Feedback and support

You may submit support requests or feedback through ConfigLatch or the ConfigLatch Support page.

Do not submit passwords, OAuth tokens, API keys, confidential Config values or information you are not authorised to disclose.

Support availability, response times and resolution are not guaranteed unless ZULIC STUDIO agrees otherwise in writing.

9. Microsoft Store, trials and payment

ConfigLatch may be distributed, licensed, updated or purchased through Microsoft Store.

Any price, trial duration, subscription period, renewal condition, tax and payment term displayed by Microsoft Store at acquisition forms part of your purchase arrangement.

Microsoft may process payments, refunds and licence verification under its applicable terms and policies.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any refund, replacement, repair or other right that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Updates and changes

ZULIC STUDIO may provide updates to improve functionality, compatibility or security.

Because ConfigLatch depends on Windows, Roblox OAuth and Roblox Open Cloud, platform changes may require ConfigLatch updates or temporary feature restrictions.

You may be required to install an approved version before write functionality becomes available.

Future features, including hosted Team Workspace, are not guaranteed and may be subject to separate pricing, terms and privacy information.

11. Third-party services

ConfigLatch depends on services supplied by third parties, including Microsoft and Roblox.

ZULIC STUDIO does not control and is not responsible for third-party outages, permission changes, API changes, account actions, service restrictions or discontinued functionality.

Your use of Microsoft Store, Windows, Roblox and Open Cloud remains subject to their respective terms and policies.

12. Intellectual property

ConfigLatch, its branding, software, interface, documentation and original content are owned by or licensed to ZULIC STUDIO and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You retain ownership of your Roblox experiences, Config values and other content to the extent provided by applicable law and Roblox’s terms.

Providing feedback does not transfer ownership of your Roblox content to ZULIC STUDIO. You permit ZULIC STUDIO to use general feedback to maintain and improve ConfigLatch, provided it does not disclose your confidential information.

13. Availability

ZULIC STUDIO aims to provide a reliable product but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

ConfigLatch may be unavailable or restricted because of maintenance, security concerns, compatibility requirements, network conditions, Roblox changes, Microsoft services or circumstances outside ZULIC STUDIO’s reasonable control.

14. Consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, warranty, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Where permitted by law, any liability that can be limited will be limited to the extent reasonably permitted by applicable law.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZULIC STUDIO is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity, loss of data, reputational loss or production interruption arising from use of ConfigLatch.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

You remain responsible for reviewing and authorising changes made to your Roblox experiences.

16. Suspension and termination

You may stop using ConfigLatch at any time and disconnect its Roblox access.

ZULIC STUDIO may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:

  • A breach of these Terms.

  • Unauthorised, unlawful or abusive use.

  • Security or compatibility risk.

  • Threats to Roblox users, accounts, systems or services.

  • A legal or platform requirement.

Provisions concerning ownership, liability, consumer rights and other matters intended to survive termination will continue to apply.

17. Changes to these Terms

ZULIC STUDIO may update these Terms to reflect changes to ConfigLatch, applicable law, Microsoft Store requirements or Roblox policies.

The updated Terms will display a revised date. Where required, material changes will be communicated through the application, website or another appropriate channel.

Continuing to use ConfigLatch after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

18. Roblox independence statement

ConfigLatch is an independent creator tool.

ConfigLatch and ZULIC STUDIO are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Roblox Corporation.

Roblox is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for ConfigLatch maintenance, support, privacy practices or operation.

Roblox permissions and applicable Roblox terms remain the final authority.
